About the role
Artwefx is a one-person company right now. There's no engineering team — just the founder and the product. We're building a platform that helps Indian businesses manage operations end-to-end: onboarding, KYC verification, and role-based access across entire organisations.
The Next.js frontend is 40% done. What's missing is everything underneath it — authentication, APIs, the database schema, and the integrations that make the product actually work. You'll build that, alone, with direct access to the founder whenever you need clarity.
This isn't a role where you pick up Jira tickets and wait for code review. You'll make real decisions, own entire features, and ship to production. It's a good fit if you're comfortable figuring things out independently and don't need a team around you to stay motivated.
What you'll work on
Database design
Model the schema for a multi-tenant system using Prisma and PostgreSQL on Supabase — companies, users, roles, and everything in between.
REST APIs
Build and document secure API routes in Next.js that the frontend consumes. Think about validation, error handling, and consistency from day one.
Authentication & access control
Implement NextAuth.js with three distinct roles — Super Admin, Company Admin, and User — and protect routes accordingly via Next.js middleware.
Aadhaar KYC integration
Connect OTP-based identity verification using third-party APIs such as Surepass or Digio, making onboarding compliant and seamless.
File handling
Set up file upload pipelines via Cloudinary or AWS S3, covering document storage, retrieval, and basic access control.
Deployment & maintenance
Deploy and maintain the product on Vercel and Supabase. Keep things running, monitor for issues, and ship updates confidently.

Who we're looking for
Someone who is genuinely comfortable working alone. Not "team player who can also work independently" — actually independent. You don't need a senior dev looking over your shoulder, you don't need daily check-ins to stay on track, and you're okay with ambiguity when requirements aren't fully defined yet.
A B.E., B.Tech, BCA, MCA, or equivalent background helps — but honestly, strong personal or project work counts more. If you've built a full-stack app from scratch and can explain every decision you made, that's the conversation we want to have. You should be within commuting distance of Bengaluru for our occasional in-person syncs.
What to expect
Work from home — your primary setup, your rules.
Individual contributor — no team politics, no standups for the sake of it.
Direct line to the founder — decisions happen in a call, not a chain of approvals.
You own the entire backend — every line of it is yours to build and maintain.
